Tennis has been a part of my life since I first picked up a racquet at age 7 at Silverado Country Club in beautiful Napa, CA. I played through high school, but life took me in different directions, and for many years, tennis became more of an occasional game than a regular passion.

That all changed in my early 50s when a good friend encouraged me to get back on the court. I rediscovered my love for the game—but even more so, I fell in love with the camaraderie and friendships that came with it. No matter where I played, I found women who were welcoming, supportive, and eager to share in both great tennis and great moments off the court.

In my late 50s, life brought me full circle. After many years in Southern California, I returned to Napa, where I now live above Silverado Resort. My first friends here? Fellow tennis players, of course. Since moving back, my love for the sport has only grown.

Then, one night, I had a big aha moment: Silverado needed a women’s tournament—a place where players could come together for competition, connection, and fun. And so, Napa Tennis Escape was born. My hope is that this event gives others what tennis has given me: friendship, laughter, and the joy of playing the game we love.
